I can't remember my username and/or password, what should i do?

Don't panic, simply go to the logon page by clicking the 'Logon' button on the left menu, select the 'Lost Password' option and follow the instructions.
If you are still having trouble logging onto the site and/or cannot complete the 'Lost Password' procedure please contact us by clicking the 'Contact' button on the left menu.

Why are weight, length or dates not displayed in my preferred format?

We use cookies to store your preferences, it may be that the cookies have expired or have been deleted. You can easily change your preferences, simply logon to your account, click 'My Details', then click 'My Preferences' and select your preferred formats from the options provided.

How do I enable cookie support in my browser?

Cookies are enabled by default in most browsers, however if you think your browser has cookie support disabled then please follow these instructions:-

For Internet Explorer:

1. Left Click the 'Tools' menu.
2. Left Click 'Internet Options'.
3. Left Click 'Privacy' tab.
4. Left Click the 'Sites' button.
5. Type www.weighin.net into the top box.
6. Left Click the 'Allow' button.
7. Left Click the 'Ok' button.
8. Left Click the 'Ok' button.


For Mozilla Firefox:

1. Left Click the 'Tools' menu.
2. Left Click 'Options'.
3. Left Click 'Privacy' tab.
4. Left Click 'Exceptions' button.
5. Type www.weighin.net into the top box.
6. Left Click the 'Allow' button.
7. Left Click the 'Close' button.
8. Left Click the 'Ok' button.


You will now need to close and reopen your browser.

Why can't I access 'My Journal', 'My Friends' or 'Messaging'?

These features are only available with the Enhanced account, for more information on the Enhanced account please click here.
If you have subscribed to the Enhanced account but still cannot access these areas it could be that we could not take payment for your subscription, or you may have cancelled your subscription with us. You can check your subscription status by logging onto your Paypal account at the Paypal Website.
If, for any reason, your subscription has been cancelled then you will need to re-subscribe from within your 'My Billing' page when logged into your WeighIn.net account.

NOTE TO MEMBERS WITH THE FREE ACCOUNT: 'My Journal' is provided free for the first three months from your account creation date, after this time you will need to subscribe in order to continue use of 'My Journal'.

What information is displayed on the charts page?

Firstly, there is your weight progress chart, this shows your weight over 11 weeks. Bars coloured green show your actual weight as provided by you at each weigh-in and yellow bars show your estimated weight in the weeks to come. You can position your mouse pointer over any of the bars to view a textual description of your weight at that point. Various pieces of information are also displayed alongside your weight chart.
Secondly, there is your weight progress bar, this shows how close you are to achieving your target weight. Presented alongside the bar is text which tells you the actual percentage that you have achieved, as well as how much weight is remaining until you reach your target.
Finally, a bar that respresents your current BMI score is displayed. Alongside this bar is information detailing your current BMI status. See 'What is a BMI score' for more information.

Where can I access my friends weight charts?

Your friends weight charts can be accessed within the Charts page, simply click the 'Friend Charts' button (located above your own weight chart). This will display your weight chart with up to 4 of your friends charts. If you wish to view charts of friends other than those shown you can go to the 'My Friends' page and select up to 4 friends by clicking the group icon (bottom right of their profile card) for each friend, then click the 'Charts' button which is displayed on the right hand side of the screen.

Where can I update my personal data such as name, address, email and logon details?

You can update this information from within the 'My Profile' page of the WeighIn site. To access the 'My Profile' page simply logon to your WeighIn.net account, click the 'My Details' button from the left menu and then the 'My Profile' button.
After you have updated the data that you wished to change simply click the 'Update Profile' button to save your changes.

Where can I update my public profile and/or change visibility options?

You can update this information from within the 'My Public Profile' page of the WeighIn site. To access the 'My Public Profile' page simply logon to your WeighIn.net account, click the 'My Details' button from the left menu and then the 'My Public Profile' button.
After you have updated the data that you wished to change simply click the 'Update Profile' button to save your changes.

Please note that any information that you provide within the 'My Public Profile' page will be displayed on your 'My Page' and other areas of the website. In addition the visibility options allow you to control whether certain pieces of your information will be visible by everybody, just your friends or nobody.

Does WeighIn.net offer any specific diet plans?

At present, no, we do not offer any specific diet plans. WeighIn.net is designed to be an online weight management and motivation tool to be used alongside any diet programme you choose.
We do, however, provide a Daily Calorie Guide for you based on your own needs which you can use when planning your meals.

What is a BMI score?

BMI stands for Body Mass Index, it provides an indication of how healthy your weight is and is a system commonly used by doctors. A BMI score is calculated from your weight and height, typically a healthy BMI score ranges anywhere between 18.5 and 25. A score below 18.5 is classed as underweight, where as a score above 25 is classed as overweight and a score over 30 as obese.
WeighIn.net uses a BMI score of 22 in order to calculate your ideal weight. Please note that BMI scores are not a suitable guide for pregnant women, children or those with an athletic/muscular build.

What is a Daily Calorie Guide?

This is a guideline figure to the amount of calories that you should consume each day in order to achieve your target weight. WeighIn.net calculates this figure based on a number of factors including your sex, age, height and activity level.
